Best location, taken in popular films

The Irish edition of the Independent has offered our readers rating the most beautiful places on the planet, where popular movies were filmed. 

  1. In the first place was New Zealand - this is where the work took place on the film "Lord of the Rings." Travelers can visit Mordor (Tongariro National Park), Bruinensky ford (River Arrow), as well as the magic forest Rivendell (Kaitoke Reserve). In addition, in New Zealand remained partially scenery for the movie: so, on the farm of Henry Horn can see the Hobbit holes, and the sign "Welcome to Hobbiton". 

 

2. Second place was taken by Tunisia, where the shooting took place "Star Wars" and "The English Patient," "Life of Brian" and "Indiana Jones: in search of the ark." If you go deep in the Sahara 20 km from the city Tozeur, one can see "native settlement" Luke Skywalker and legendary landscapes of the planet Tatooine. A small caves cave city of Matmata were transformed creators of "Star Wars" in the abode of troglodytes. 

 

3. In third place was Monuriki (Monuriki), the tiny island of Fiji: there the film "Cast Away" with Tom Hanks. 

 

4. Fourth place was taken by New York ( "When Harry Met Sally," "King Kong", "Independence Day", etc.).

 



 

5. Fifth place was taken by Rome ( "La Dolce Vita").
