Westgate Bridge

Bridge Westgate Bridge has four lanes, and its length is about 2.6 kilometers. It provides communication with the western suburbs of Melbourne and the western part of the state Viktoriyay. As they say, a bridge collapsed in 1970 during its construction, while 35 workers were killed.

We passed Geelong (Geelong), the second largest city of Victoria. Then we drove Torkuey (Torquay), center coast surfers. Torkuey famous for its beaches Bells Beach (Bells Beach), - a favorite hangout for surfers and national and international carnivals. Most tours stop in Torkuee breakfast and drink tea, but instead, Jeff took us to tea in Eyndzhelsi. There, in Eyndzhelsi, we got a golf club grounds and watched the kangaroos, while Jeff was preparing tea "Billy". Again, we have filed all good things come to tea. The tea was wonderful and beautiful day, further reinforces the impression.

Then we went to Lorne

(Lorne). According to Jeff, the section of the Great Ocean Road from Lorne to Petersbourg was dug in the southern coastal slopes of the ridge Otway (Otway Ranges) soldiers returning from WWI. Starting from Lorna, the nature of the coast is changing, and hence on the way there are several excellent review sites, where travelers with breathtaking panoramic views of the wild rugged coast. Starting from here and will continue to meet the most scenic views of the coastal landscape. Great Ocean Road cut into the mountain side of the ridge, leaning toward the sea, and leads us on, past several databases swimmers, surfers and just a good rest.

The main entrance to the Great Ocean Road is designated a wooden arch. This and further from the road overlooking the most picturesque landscapes in the whole state of Victoria. Along the way, we gloat types of coastal cliffs, long sandy beaches and roaring waves of the surf. Or, take pictures and drive past grottoes and drowning in the shadows of ferns tiny cove, adjacent to the sea.
We made a stop for lunch in the resort town called "Apollonova Bay" (Apollo Bay).

Know that this is a favorite place of lovers, and it boasts many tourist facilities. Described as paradise by the sea, this town has at its disposal a wide sandy beach in a crescent shape and the green hills of Otway.

From Apollo Bay the road turns into the Otway National Park. Landscape changes: now before us the green forests of ash. gray and blue mountain eucalyptus trees, thickets of ferns and myrtle beech - all that constitutes the beauty of the Australian rainforest.

Because of the short detour, we're going back toward the rugged coastline of the National Park in Port Campbell (Port Campbell). Touching called "Coast of shipwrecks, the area actually boasts many natural wonders such as the famous 12 Apostles (12 Apostles), mouth of Loch Ard (Loch Ard Gorge), Arka (The Arch), Hess Point (Point Hesse), London Bridge (London Bridge) and the Grotto (Grotto). All this was created by sculptor-sea for thousands of years.

If you take a look at the famous Twelve Apostles ", you will notice that the visible columns are eleven, not twelve. The last column is destroyed by erosion so that it can be seen only at low tide.
