Hamburger Kunsthalle presents an art gallery, consisting of three buildings connected together. The first of these was built in the years 1863-1869. architects Georg Theodor Schirmacher and Hermann von der Goede. The other two came later - in 1919 and 1997. Core of the collection galleries are works by artists 19 centuries, one of the buildings entirely left to the mercy of contemporary art.
