The time of biblical events was a garden, and bare tip of the hill was the place of execution of numerous death sentences. This is a place of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which later was built the Temple of the Holy Sepulchre. When Jesus was crucified, and then stabbed with a spear, faithful disciples carried his body in a cave under the mountain. Three days later, the miracle of resurrection, and Calvary has become a symbol of becoming a Christian religion.
